FAQs
Have some questions about our product range? Here’s our FAQ / Frequently Asked Questions with our answers. If you would like more information or some more detail, please contact our team!
What are your products made out of?
Our products are made out of 100% Recycled Plastic, specifically Polypropylene which we recycle from UK businesses. This is a very durable polymer and the best material we have found for this use.
Where are your products made?
All of our products are handmade in Exeter, Devon, where we carry out the whole process from shredding the plastic all the way through to building the benches.
What Colour are your furniture, fencing, decking etc available in?
All items are a dark grey, except the Atlantic which is a limited edition bench which has blue planks. This is down to the recycling process, as we are a plastic recycling company we can’t guarantee which colours of plastics will come to us for recycling. Therefore, we mix all of the colours together and it comes out in Charcoal Grey. This is also a benefit as it’s a timeless colour so will look fantastic for years to come without going out of fashion!
What is the lead time?
Our lead time does vary throughout the year, generally all orders are delivered within two weeks but most are delivered much quicker! Large orders of fencing materials may take slightly longer but we will communicate this at time of order.
Will it fade or get hot in the sun?
All of our products are treated with a special UV additive that reduces the chance of fading in the sun. We also use a high proportion of black plastic in the blend which is naturally UV resistant. The items may fade slightly over their lifespan, but only to a lighter shade of grey. They may get slightly warm in the sun, but it’s not too hot to sit on. It’s not as bad as leather seats in a hot car!
do i have to put the items together? is it assembled?
Yes, most of our products are delivered fully assembled. There are a few items such as the Brixham, Salcombe, Wellington and some dog agility items that need to be bolted together on site. If you choose Man & Van delivery we will assemble these items for you, or if you choose Pallet delivery you will need to assemble them yourselves. We can provide instructions for this if necessary.
Can it be fixed to the ground?
Yes, we can offer two options for ground fixings. For soft ground such as grass we can supply plastic leg extensions which have grooves cut into them, which you can dig a hole & put them into the ground, topped with soil or post-crete. For hard surfaces like concrete we can supply you with L shaped metal brackets to bolt to the legs and the ground.
What is the guarantee?
We offer a 25 year guarantee on the plastic, that it will not splinter, crack or degrade. The problem with plastic in landfill is that it takes hundreds of years to degrade – while it may not look like a bench in a few hundred years, it will probably still exist!
How do i clean the products?
All items can simply be jet washed or cleaned with a cloth & spray! The cushion covers can be machine washed at 30 degrees if required.
What fixings do you use?
We use stainless-steel or zinc coated screws, and powder-coated steel brackets.
how do i cut it?
We recommend using a sharp, circular saw on a low speed.
how easy is it to screw into it?
We recommend pre-drilling with pilot holes as otherwise you could snap the screws!
Can you make a bespoke item for me?
Where possible we can work with you to create a bespoke item. It helps if you have a good idea of the style and measurements that you would prefer. We can then supply a quote based on the material used and time it takes to build.
Do you offer memorial/commemorative plaques? Can you fix the plaque to the item for me?
Yes we can supply brass plaques to be fixed on the benches, we will fix it to the item before delivery if you would like us to.
Do you sell the cushions?
Yes we do, you can buy the scatter cushions as standard or if you would like a bespoke size we can supply a quote for this.
What Payment Methods do you accept?
We can accept all card types with payment via PayPal or our card machine. Our website can take card payments separately to PayPal if you prefer to not use it. We can also accept Cheque, Bank Transfer or Direct Debit
Do I need an account?
You don’t need to open an account with us to order. If you would like credit rather than payment upfront, we will need you to complete our Credit Account Application Form which our team can provide you with.
Do you offer finance options?
Yes we can offer a 0% finance with no deposit payment option for orders over £10,000 subject to credit checks. For orders below £2,000 you can use the PayPal Pay in 3 option on our website which splits the cost over 3 months.
We can also offer a hire scheme over 24 months with the option to buy or return the items at the end of the period.
How are the items delivered?
If you have selected Man & Van delivery this will be carried out in either our Luton vans or pick up truck & trailer depending on access to your site. If you have selected Pallet delivery the items will be delivered on a pallet to kerbside only. All items are wrapped in bubble wrap to ensure the safety of the items in transit.
How does pallet delivery work?
The couriers only deliver to kerbside, and can be quite strict about not helping beyond this. We advise that you need a forklift, pallet trucks or at least 4 people on site to assist with unloading. We will need to know if there’s no HGV access, which may incur a supplementary charge for a smaller vehicle. It will be your responsibility to unwrap the items, move them to your desired location and dispose of any wrapping waste. If this is an issue, we are more than happy to upgrade you to the Man & Van delivery service, subject to quote.
How much is delivery?
Delivery to EX, TQ, PL, TR & TA postcodes is free. Delivery on all orders over £5,000 is free. For postcodes outside of the free area, delivery is subject to quote.
